The Christmas Lights Are Still Burning Bright
We're still in holiday mode. While some days call for multiple tables, it's more common for me to select one cloth that stays on the table for a few days and gets multiple dish treatments.
The lush green of this Marimekko print from Crate & Barrel invites experimentation!
The chargers are silver, but the reflection of the ceiling gives them a yellow cast.
String of Lights Fiesta dinnerware with Oneida Cityscape flatware, Manhattan glass and Crate & Barrel accessories.
Post86 Fiesta greens with vintage Oven Serve, Mexican glass and Oneida Deauville flatware.
Fiesta meets Kate Spade Fir Street accent plates, Crate & Barrel glasses and Lenox Eternal gold flatware.
Tomorrow this cloth will go back into the storage bin until next year as we get ready for New Year's Eve!

Celebrating the Elves
What comes after Christmas? A thank you breakfast for the elves!
These elf plates, mugs and spoons are a Williams Sonoma design from last Christmas. The Santa platter is Homer Laughlin Best China. The table also features Oneida Cityscape flatware, Hall salt & pepper shakers, vintage napkins and Crate & Barrel napkin rings. I especially like how these elves are tablescaping elves...notice the flatware skis and the use of kitchen items in their snowman construction!

And the Snow Also Brought...
...time to finish the holiday decorations!
A little tree for the bay window
And some bling for the Oven Serve on the mantle
And a little garden of greenery for the kitchen window
It looks like Christmas inside and out!

A Tablescape for a Snowy Day
When it looks like this outside,
(note: this is our neighbors' charming home.)
I think it's only fitting to have a tabletop that looks like this
We live in a neighborhood of little 1940's Capes, and this cloth really evokes the feel of our streets on a snowy day.
Here's a run down of the contents: Retro Red Stripe Fiesta dinner plates with juniper salad plates, Christmas tree glasses from Walmart sometime in the mid-90's, jingle bell napkin rings from Pier One, Fiesta napkins, Oneida Deauville flatware. The centerpiece features an oval mirror, house ornaments and bottle brush trees.

Peppermint Parade
Ready for more peppermint? Let's start with some simple stripes.
The tablecloth is from Crate & Barrel. The glasses are Libbey. The flatware is Fiesta, and the napkins were a gift from a good dish friend who shares my passion for peppermint. The tapers are from Pier One.
Let's take the table top activity up a notch with some Betty Crocker peppermint and a few more accessories.
The tea towel is also Crate & Barrel. I've seen oilcloth tablecloths with that candy pattern. The glassware is from TJMaxx. The peppermint ball candle is from my Fiesta Secret Santa. The pillar candles are from Yankee Candle a few years back.
The last entry in the peppermint parade takes things over the top with a patterned vintage cloth and a vintage elf tea set.
The cute knitted candy canes are also from my Secret Santa. The candy stripe trees are from my mother.
I think this cloth was homemade. I've seen it for sale in a variety of sizes and with different border trims. I like how this fringe brings in a little blue.
Thanks to all who contributed to these expressions in peppermint!
One final entry may make it to the parade this year...a Vera cloth I've had my eye on for a long time. It's in transit...please keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned.
