Savoring Summer: Motel Chairs

Even though the calendar says Labor Day, we're still savoring summer. I need to enjoy every last minute of my favorite season, so I just can't do a fall tablescape until equinox time arrives. One of our favorite summer activities is to spend a day at the seaside, whether it's lounging on the beach or exploring a quaint town. Then we bring home some seafood for a summer supper outdoors.

I also like to bring home a tabletop souvenir as well, such as this Couleur Nature tea towel from the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store in York, Maine.

The tea towel works well with Fiesta dinnerware, especially the new marigold anniversary color.

We're also using Mexican glass wine glasses and Gibson Sangria Rope flatware with vintage cocktail napkins in contemporary aluminum napkin rings. The vintage motel chairs show many colors of paint as they huddle around this metal table with casters. I like how the colors tell of a story many years of sunsets pondered and meals shared.

A few ocean-inspired garden ornaments also enhance this celebration of the sea on the dry land of our deck.

I'm going to share this for Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Through Life, but this post is a two parter, so do take a look here to see our other outdoor table and how it gets decked out for a late summer tabletop time.
