Wilendur Falls on the Tabletop

Most tablecloth collectors I know have an active wish list of "most desired" cloths. I was lucky to find one of my tabletop most-wanted's at the last Brimfield fair earlier this month. It's the perfect time of year for these Wilendur Autumn Leaves to fall on the tabletop...and the perfect day. It's time for Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch !





The leaves on this cloth are done in a naturalistic style, so I continued that theme in the centerpiece, using acorns, buckeyes and leaves from the yard "under glass."







A squirrel candle holder is a most appropriate addition, don't you think?



The placesettings feature post-86 Fiesta dinnerware in juniper, ivory, chocolate and cinnabar. The napkin ring is also from the Fiesta line.





The flatware is Oneida Deauville.



That little squirrel gets around, doesn't he?



The Villeroy & Boch Boston glassware rests on vintage aluminum coasters in a leaf design.







Other items on the table include contemporary marigold napking and Fiesta prep bowls in chcolate and marigold.



These bowls are a new addition to the Fiesta line, and they are great for both preparation and serving. Special thanks to my dish buddy Crystal for trading with me so that I could have a chocolate bowl. The bowls are sold in pairs of the same color, but Fiesta is all about the mix-n-match, so we collectors have dispatched parcels across the U.S. to obtain the colors we want!

Orn-u-copia!

My tabletop features a lot of post-86 Fiesta dinnerware in placesettings. Today, in honor of Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Through Life, I'm sharing one of the funnest accesories of the Fiesta line, the blank ornaments.




These little gems are shaped like miniature plates. Usually they are decorated with decals for Christmas or some other holiday. The second-quality blank pieces are sold at the Homer Laughlin outlet, much to the delight of eager collectors.

A good dish friend recently sent me a blank ornament in the newest Fiesta color, paprika.





The arrival of this new addition inspired an ornament filled cornucopia centerpiece, also known as the Orn-U-Copia!



Add a few acorns and buckeyes, and you have a fun centerpiece that combines man-made and nature-made treasures.

Seasonal Sunday Supper

Today's Seasonal Sunday at The Tablescaper is the perfect place to share this seasonal Sunday supper for two.

This Fall Fantasy decal is one of my favorite treatments on Fiesta. I'd love to have more of it, but I have declared my house to be at maximum capacity when it comes to dishes. This tablescape proves that sometimes just a few pieces in a line are enough for a charming table.







This bowl is the Fiesta chowder bowl. Square Fiesta dinner plates in chocolate and shamrock luncheon plates make up the rest of the placesetting.



I used the large marigold prep bowl to serve our potato, artichoke & leek soup.



Some leaf-shaped votives and silver acorns add sparkle & shimmer to the table.





The flatware is Oneida Cityscape. The glasses are from T.J. Maxx.



The vintage tablecloth is by Simtex. The napkins are contemporary.



It's fun to play with the effects of the candlelight...

Fruit for the Equinox

Fruit-themed cloths are another favorite of mine, but I think of them as summer tablecloths. I was thrilled to find this fruit cloth with pine cones at Brimfield in May. Don't you find that the pinecones lend a nice autumnal air to the primary tones on the fruit?







The placesettings are vintage Harlequin with Oneida Deauville flatware. The napkins and the harvest napkin rings are gifts from my friends Kathy and Saarin respectively. I do love it when my table comes together courtesy of dish friends! Thank you, K&S!

The vintage Libbey glassware puts pinapple in a cornucopia...another great nod to the season.









A few special Harlequin pieces make the hearts of collectors sing!







The Harlequin relish tray is the perfect display for the variety of acorns filling the yard right now. I'll use these for holiday decor and then feed them to the squirrels on a snowy day this winter.

How cool is that?

Elaine's table features vintage Fiesta dinnerware in chartreuse and red with maroon striped cake plates and a Riviera pitcher in blue. She got an amazing bargain on this pitcher...it was meant to be used with this cloth, don't you think?



This placesetting also includes contemporary plaid napkins, pine napkin rings and post-86 Fiesta flatware in chocolate.



Elaine also slipped in a little Harlequin...and I do mean little. The individual creamer and the nut dish are just so cute!



How about a little candlelight to go with your fruit and pine cones?



Fiesta egg cups in chartreuse, red and amberstone make a fabulous centerpiece.




And some Riviera/Tango salt and pepper shakers in case you need a little more seasoning.



I really love the chocolate pine cones on the blue border!
