The Dancing Lady's New Year's Eve

Fiesta collectors love our Dancing Lady. She's been a great face of Fiesta dinnerware for decades. Last year she presided over Fiesta's 75th anniversary celebration. This year, she launched the amazing new color flamingo. I think she deserves a special night out tonight. Where would she go for a special New Year's Eve? Why, the Flamingo Club, of course!

The table is set with Fiesta, Manhattan glassware and Oneida Deauville flatware. The vintage Christmas cloth is from the Becky Turner collection.

The Dancing Lady has on a lovely new dress.

The club is ready for her arrival.

Something about her date is a little questionable, but we'll cut her some slack given that her busy schedule does not leave her much time for finding a quality beau. Maybe it's the mustache?

Happy New Year, Dancing Lady!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us for 2013.

Poinsettia P.S.

I often use the days after Christmas to work on table ideas for next year. We used this California Hand Prints poinsettia cloth from Becky on a table that held gifts by the Christmas tree. I'd also like to see it on the tabletop with Retro Red Stripe and poinsettia Fiesta. The gold ribbon accents are wonderful with the red flowers and green leaves. The cloth has also passed kitty inspection!

It Was a Dark and Snowy Night...

...the perfect inspiration for working on a tabletop I've been wanting to create for a long time.

This California Hand Prints cloth was on my wish list specifically for use with these early P86 Fiesta Christmas patterns, Cobalt Trees and Pastel Trees. Becky provided the cloth and Rebecca assisted with some of the dishes.

The Pastel Trees were exclusive to the Mercantile Department stores, which were later purchased by Dillards. The Cobalt Trees were a May Company pattern. These stores were absorbed by Macy's.

Vintage and contemporary flatware work well together. I think I've accomplished my mission with these dishes and this cloth.

I enjoyed working on this table and watching the snowflakes fall!

Merry Christmas 2012

Poinsettia Parade 2012

We saw this gorgeous poinsettia tree at The Elms in Newport, RI on Saturday. It was the perfect inspiration for this year's tabletop Poinsettia Parade. Here's a closer look.

Our Christmas Eve tabletop featured poinsettias and peppermints.

This glass canister from Libbey makes a perfect kitten-safe centerpiece for favorite glass ornaments.

The placesetting features my favorite Fiesta Christmas pattern, the poinsettia decal for Belk from 2006. The vintage silver poinsettia napkin rings were a lucky find in Concord, MA yesterday.

Fiesta dinner plates in rose, juniper, white and scarlet work well with the cloth, but we Fiesta collectors still need our fuchsia. Hey, Santa, any chance you can drop off the formula for a perfect hot pink at HLC?

Merry Christmas!
